Frequently Asked Questions

Clean your piercing 2x per day using sterile saline solution. Spray both sides, let it sit for 30–60 seconds, then gently remove any buildup using a clean paper towel or Q-tip. Keep the area dry afterward.
Avoid twisting or sleeping on your piercing. Excess movement and pressure can cause irritation and increase the risk of infection.
Sterile saline is available in-shop and at most convenience stores.

Preparation is key to a smooth piercing experience. We strongly recommend eating a full meal within 2 hours of your appointment, staying well hydrated, and avoiding excessive alcohol or caffeine beforehand. Being well-nourished helps stabilize your blood sugar and significantly reduces the chances of dizziness or fainting.
Please arrive with a valid ID and wear comfortable clothing that allows easy access to the area being pierced.
Lastly, come in mentally prepared—remember, the actual piercing only takes a second. Focus on taking slow, steady breaths during the procedure and avoid holding your breath.

For piercing a minor, you will need:
A notarized consent form (fully completed before your appointment)
The parent/guardian who signed the form present at the appointment
A valid government-issued ID from the parent/guardian
We have copies of the form available at the shop, and there is an Amscot about 5 minutes away if you need a notary. If you plan to do this the same day, please arrive at least 30 minutes early.
Please note: If any of these are missing, we will not be able to perform the tattoo.

We use implant-grade titanium, which is safe for healing and minimizes irritation.

It’s completely normal for a new piercing to have mild redness, swelling, tenderness, and occasional “crusties” (a light yellow or clear discharge that dries around the jewelry). You may also notice slight itching—these are all part of the normal healing process.
Signs of a possible infection include worsening pain, excessive swelling, redness spreading outward, the area feeling hot to the touch, or thick yellow/green discharge with a strong odor. If you’re experiencing these symptoms, we do not recommend removing the jewelry, as this can trap the infection inside. Instead, stop by the shop so we can assess it and guide you on next steps. In many cases, infections are treated with antibiotics prescribed by a medical professional, but we always recommend getting a professional piercer’s opinion first.

Jewelry should only be changed once the piercing is fully healed, which varies depending on the placement. Changing it too early can cause irritation, delay healing, or lead to complications.
Most piercings will require a downsize appointment around 6–8 weeks after the initial piercing. This is when we replace the longer starter jewelry with a shorter, more fitted piece to reduce movement, prevent irritation, and support proper healing. We recommend stopping by the shop so we can safely downsize or change your jewelry for you.
