FAQ's
1. Does Beyond Ink accept walk-ins for tattoos or piercings?
We are by appointment only for the foreseeable future. Schedules occasionally allow for a same-day consultation or piercing appointment, but tattoo appointments must be scheduled in advance.
2. Can minors get tattoos and piercings?
All minors will be required to complete a Florida Notary Form for Tattoos / Body Piercings - which can be found under the release forms tab on our website - prior to their appointment. They also must be accompanied by a parent and both parties must present government-issued ID’s. Clients must make their artist aware they are a minor prior to the appointment, and any artist reserves the right to turn down a request from a minor. The minimum age for tattoos is 16 years old, and the youngest for body piercings is 14 years old. For more information on policies with minors, please call or email the shop.
3.Can clients bring a guest?
Clients are permitted one (1) guest to their appointment. With current COVID regulations, please keep in mind everyone inside the shop is required to wear a mask that covers the mouth and nose regardless of vaccination status.
4. What is a consultation appointment?
A consultation, or consult, is a brief meeting between client and artist to meet, create a plan for the tattoo, answer any questions about the project. At the end, clients will have the opportunity to schedule the actual tattoo appointment and place a deposit.
5. What does the deposit entail?
The deposit is a required step to reserve an appointment slot. The deposit cost is $50+, depending on the artist and project. The deposit will go towards the final cost of the tattoo and is non-refundable.
6. What is Beyond Ink’s cancellation policy?
Any cancellation or reschedule requests must be submitted at least 48 hours prior to the appointment. All deposits are non-refundable, and failure to provide significant notice will forfeit the deposit and a new deposit will be required before rescheduling. Deposits may be held for rescheduling within 6 months of the date the deposit was paid. No-call, no-shows will result in the loss of your deposit, and you will be required to place a new one before rescheduling.
7. Does Beyond Ink recommend any numbing creams?
We do not have any numbing recommendations for piercings as most do not have enough affect beyond the surface. For recommended tattoo numbing creams, please reach out to your specific artist or email the shop.
8. Does Beyond Ink recommend any aftercare solutions for tattoos?
Clients will need unscented, antibacterial soap and moisturizer to successfully heal their tattoo. For specific aftercare brand recommendations please reach out to your specific artist or email the shop.
9. Does Beyond Ink recommend any aftercare solutions for piercings?Clients will need sterile saline solution to clean and care for their piercings. We do sell this product in-store for $5. For specific, alternate brand recommendations please reach out to your specific piercer or email the shop.
10. Can I bring my own jewelry for piercings?Our piercing prices include basic jewelry options, plus we offer upgrade designs and materials between $5-40 apiece, to avoid the need for clients to bring in jewelry. While healing it is essential to use the best quality jewelry with a proper fit. Often, jewelry brought from outside the shop will not reach these standards. We will only accept outside jewelry when changing a healed piercing.
11. Can Beyond Ink help change my body piercing jewelry? We offer jewelry changes for $5 per piercing. Clients may bring in their own jewelry, choose from our in-store selection, or place a specialty order. If unsure about the style, shape, or size jewelry the piercing requires, clients may schedule an in-person consultation.
12. What is an apprentice?
An apprentice is someone still learning their trade. They have less experience, and pricing may vary for their services.
13. Is Beyond Ink looking for apprentices?
Beyond Ink is fully staffed and currently not accepting apprenticeships. Prospective clients are encouraged to follow our Instagram for future updates and openings.
14. When will Beyond Ink offer under-the-mask piercings again?
All services under the mask, including nose and mouth-related piercings, have been temporarily suspended. Due to COVID concerns, when we resume these services we will require proof of full COVID vaccination to receive any style nose or mouth-related piercings.
15. What is considered fully COVID vaccinated?
As defined by the CDC, clients are considered fully vaccinated two weeks after their second dose in a two-shot series, such as the Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna vaccines, or two weeks after a single-dose vaccine, such as the J&J/Janssen vaccine.
16. What forms of proof for COVID vaccination are accepted?
The physical COVID vaccination card or similarly provided health-care document is ideal. While we we accept photos that clearly capture information on the vaccination card, we reserve the right to deny any photo for any reason.
